Global Peace Photo Award 2022 Winners Announced

“A Small yet Great Victory Over the Pandemic” by Sourav Das

The Global Peace Photo Award (formerly known as the Fried Award) annually recognizes the world’s best photograph on the theme of peace. It was established by The Photographic Society (PHG) in Austria and Edition Lammerhuber in partnership with UNESCO, the Austrian Parliament, and the International Press Institute (IPI).

The 10th Global Peace Photo Award worth €10,000 went to Sourav Das of India (see photograph above), and the winner of The Children Peace Image (€1000), is Zoya Yeadon from Mauritius. This year, the winning photographs were chosen from a pool of 14,157 images submitted from 115 countries.

The jury is made up of editors, photographers, representatives of photographic associations and of UNESCO, from Austria, Germany, France, Norway, Finland and the US. Gerd Ludwig has been serving on the Award Jury since its inception in 2013.
