LECTURE PRESENTATION AT THE ART CENTER IN PASADENA

Since 1990, Gerd Ludwig has been National Geographic's front man in the Former Soviet Union; his images of the socio-economic changes following the dissolution of the Soviet Bloc make him the world's foremost color photographer documenting this region and earned him the 2006 ‘Photographer of the Year’ Lucie Award. In his lecture presentation “A Great Photograph Touches the Soul and Broadens the Mind” in Pasadena, CA at the Art Center College of Design’s LA Times Theatre on Thursday, March 19, Gerd Ludwig illustrates the area’s development over the last 20 years, leading up to Russia today; the effects of the recent oil boom on Western Siberia's everyday life; the revival of the Russian Orthodox Church; and the over-the-top hedonism of Moscow at Night.

This presentation is sponsored by Canon USA as part of the Explorers of Light Lecture Series.
