Hey Gerd,

A few notes on the site:

  • I’m personally not super sold on the images in the body of the summaries (for example, reactor #4 image on the about page) , however the long texts looked a bit boring without some sort of visual. If you have any ideas, let me know. Will keep playing around with it.

  • It would be great if we updated the summary for No End in Sight. It’s currently the video script, but it would be nice to include the video on the site without repeating the same wording written out.

  • I also think that the Update 2024 page could be reworked in a more interesting way. Thoughts on including related images in between the paragraphs similarly to how the video plays out?

  • I changed almost all of the “Chernobyl”s to “Chornobyl” excluding the title of the project and title of the book. On the About page, there is an “*” after the first use of “Chornobyl” which references a note at the end of the summary “A note as to place names: we have used the Ukrainian spellings for Chornobyl but retained the spellings of locations and names as they were used in the original 2014 publication.”

  • For the Long Shadow of Chernobyl Photo Book summary, I took the blurb from the back of the book. Let me know if you want to keep it this way, or if you would like to write a different book description.

  • The photos page has the section titles from the old site (i.e. The Chernobyl Victims, The Chornobyl Exclusion Zone..etc). Thoughts on shortening the titles to just Victims, The Exclusion Zone, Pripyat, and The Nuclear Power Plant?

  • Should we consider adding 2023 photos to the photos sections?

Texts to review:
About The Long Shadow of Chernobyl
About The Chornobyl Nuclear Disaster (copied from long shadow site, added a paragraph at the end talking about the 2022 invasion)
